Books Beyond  Borders meets every two months in the evenings to discuss the latest book selected.   The focus of Books Beyond Borders is fiction. Our next meetup will be on September 24th at 8pm.

The book selected for this evening is Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng.  Everything I Never Told You  is a touching  novel set in the 1970s about a Chinese American family living in a small-town in Ohio.  Lydia, the favorite child of Marilyn and James Lee, is found dead in the local lake. With her death, the parents’ hopes that their daughter could fulfill the dreams they were unable to pursue are destroyed and the delicate balancing act that had been keeping this family together is shattered, plunging them into chaos.  An emotionally moving story of family, secrets, and yearning: Everything I Never Told You is both a page-turner and a touching family portrait, uncovering the ways in which family members struggle to understand one another, all their lives.

To participate in Books Beyond Borders there are only 4 rules of engagement:
1) be an existing member of IWCT
2) read the book
3) pick one or two favorite quotes from the book
4) bring a sweet or savory of your liking to the meetups, to share
