Books Beyond Borders

March 26 @ 20:00 - 22:00

Free

Join us for the next meet-up of our evening book club called Books Beyond Borders.  We members meet every two months in the evenings to discuss the latest book selected.  The focus of Books Beyond Borders is fiction.

To participate in Books Beyond Borders there are only 4 rules of engagement:
1) be an existing member of IWCT
2) read the book
3) pick one or two favorite quotes from the book
4) bring a sweet or savory of your liking to the meetups to share

The next meetup will be on March 26th at 8pm and will focus on “Lady Tan’s Circle of Women” by Lisa See.

Lady Tan’s Circle of Women is an immersive historical novel inspired by the true story of  a 15th-century Chinese physician. Raised by her pioneering grandmother to master the art of Chinese medicine, Tan Yunxian navigates the constraints of Confucian ideals, an arranged marriage, and societal expectations that confine women to the domestic sphere. Forbidden from practicing medicine or maintaining her cherished friendship with a midwife, Yunxian must find a way to defy tradition and leave a legacy that endures for centuries. This poignant tale celebrates resilience, friendship, and the enduring impact of women supporting women.

Please RSVP below by March 24th to let us know you’ll be joining us on Tuesday, March 26.

Also, join the Books Beyond Borders WhatsApp chat to stay up-to-date on the location and other latest news.

♥Make sure you check the WhatsApp Chat as the location of this month’s meetup is different from last month’s location.♥
